Artist Statement
Kristina Larson creates biomorphic monochromatic sculptures and functional designs. She explores the limits of her materials by hand-building, sculpting, and assembling. She incorporates vibrant LED lights in her work, inspired by neon art and the electric pop colors of the 1980s. Larson relies on chance and accidental happenings, embracing Gaetano Pesce’s notion of celebrating the beauty in imperfection.
